Hello Blogaroos and Blogaretts -

I wanted to reflect on something with you. As you know, if you have been reading, I was accosted in the workplace a week ago.......to be honest, I have been holding a grudge... Well, last evening at the WNL session that I am facilitating "Treasures of the Transformed Life" we were talking about "Love Your Neighbor" which included "acceptance and forgiveness." Well - later that evening, after I was home, I realized that I needed to forget the grudge and move on with my life.............. So, today, I did just that. I acted as if nothing had happened, did my job, and all-in-all, had a great day................ Thank you WNL class, thank you God, for today was better than yesterday, and who knows about tomorrow, but I hope and I pray that I will not stand in my own way for a better day.

Take good care of yourself, john

Upon further reflection on 9/12

Gray I say is the color of the day
Black and White say you is the only way

Prayer is there for us to choose
All you hope for is to win or lose

Let's reach out and touch our hands
Strike-up a chores for the heavenly band

Peace is the answer we've been looking for
Not blood and guts and a god damned war.

9/11 - I was in the dentist office, I went to work and watched the first tower crumble, I went home and watched the second tower crumble.............I cried. I have tears now for the loss of our virginity........... we, the USA is now having to live like England after WWII, in fear of tomorrow..........in my small life I have wanted to have unlocked doors and unlocked boarders... now I have a lock on all the openings of my little world and we have locks on our boarders.

Pray hard for peace. The answer is not in counter measures and war. The answer is in prayer and finding a world where there is no hunger and no person without excellent health care....

If we could find those things, we would pay tribute to all who have gone before us to protect us and rescue us................................

Pray with me now in your own way........................................................................................amen.
HI HO Blogoweenees.........Here it is, it is out now and I have it!!!!

This is the brand new release from one of my favorite singing groups - Trout Fishing in America.....How can you beat songs like "my hair had a party last night," "Alberta Postcard." "Bob and Bob," "Simon Says," and "Beans and Weenies?"

Some of you know that I have been depressed and melancholy since I was accosted at work and robbed all in the same day - this CD made me smile when nothing else was working....

So, if you want to feel better, you better start listening to Trout Fishing in America.

Good night and remember, take good care of yourself, I love you all, john

Howdy Blogroonies -

Today was one of the most interesting days of my life - my whole life!!

Here it goes.... At about 8:15 am I went to my chairman's office to chat... We were chatting when one of my colleagues came into my off as mad a wet hen.... she was upset because she perceived that someone in administration was impeding her work on a pet project... she was starting to yell at my boss and she was shaking she was so mad.... I stood up and said that I would leave the two of them alone.........she turned around and grabbed me by the shirt and yelled at me that I would not leave, that I would stay right here and listen to what she had to say....she then proceeded to physically slam dunk me back into my chair and against the wall so hard that the student worked and administrative aide in the next room were worried about whether or not I was hurt...... she proceeded to yell at my boss until she had nothing else to say and stormed out of the office to go yell at someone else............ I have whipped up on by a 50 something year old women........never underestimate the power of an angry women.

I then went to my office and hid until class time and avoided that person for the rest of the day...classes went well and I came home......

This is my day to cut the grass at church and so I drove to the shed where the gas cans are kept and put one in the back of the truck and went to hitch up the trailer..........

As I approached the deck on the drive way I noticed that the trailer was not where it was in the morning when I went to work..........in fact, it was no where to be found.... it was missing, stolen, gone..... I called Sandy and Jason to make sure they had not loaned it to someone...the had not. I was beginning to worry....... All in all the damn thieves stole my trailer, weed wacker, two propane tanks, my truck ramps, and a garden too.... (the police man said he was surprised the took the garden too, it was too much like work)..........

I did call the police (sheriff where I live in the county) and he made a report and the trailer will be put out on AFIS the national stolen vehicle system.......good luck...........

Well I can tell you that is sad that people are so jealous of other's that they will just drive up and take stuff....... between the time Jason left and I got home was about 2 hours...... I am afraid to leave the house unprotected...........

Well later, Sandy and Jason and I went to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner........on our way out, we saw Dennis and Marie and Dave and Janie eating.............

And then Sandy and I went to a meeting were we heard a presentation by Sam on the Edge being in partnership with Cherokee Church..........

Two hours later we came home and I am writhing a blog.......

I am seriously thinking about filing a harassment complaint against my colleague

Students are taking on-line quizzes today (last count is I have 51 in my on-line class) and around 40 in each of the other in class sections of MIS and 10 graduate students....another walk in the park..

So, I am going to drink a glass of wine and think about this day and pray for guidance..

God bless all of you and remember, take good care of yourself, cheers, john

Danville BRAVES win Appy League title
beating the Elizabethton TWINS!!!
See the Johnson City Press for a complete report.....
Could this be a sign of things to come for the parent club in MN?
Only time will tell.....

While my Atlanta Braves seem to be going nowhere except home at the end of the season, the parent club can be proud of the rookies playing in the Appalachian League. The present may be dismal for the parent team, at least the kids on the way up will have a winning tradition!!
Cheers, and remember to take good care of yourself.... john

TGIF - Bloggers - (or TGIFB)

Today, we (Phil and I) took MBA students to meet with a client........... Then I came home and ate lunch and started the wash.......... Then Jason came home........ Then Dennis came over..... Then Frank came over to pick-up the china cabinet I talked about yesterday......... The four of us got it in Frank's truck with no trouble....... and he drove off!!!!!!!!! He will strip it and then Sandy and I will be very happy.................. After he left, Dennis and I had a beer.... We had Southbound Ale from the Depot Street Brewery via the Acoustic Coffee House... it came this bottle

That is a pumpkin behind the bottle - while it is not yet officially fall, these were in the grocery store and I could not resist - compulsive buying is a short coming/ weakness/ affliction/ addiction of mine.......... Dennis and I enjoyed our beer and chatted and then he went home and I continued to do the wash.....and made a trip to the grocery store for supplies for tomorrow night when Dennis and Marie and Joe are coming to dinner...........Joe's wife Roz is in China teaching this semester and will not be here.........we do not want Joe to get too much in his head....that is my way of saying worry......

Now, with luck, I will show you a picture or two of a baby cardinal....

The little critter is eating sunflowers that we grew this year....... Mom and Pop have been around, but were not here today (staying out of the rain).... I suspect that it is still too early to know if that is a female or male....as everyone knows, males are bright red and females are more brown with and an orange beak......... if it comes back when it is grown and I know it is the same one, I will let you know its gender... Do not hold your breath..........

Sandy is taking me to dinner tonight and then we will come home an watch a movie....

All in all, this has been a really good day....

Thanks for reading and remember, take good care of yourself, peace, john

Happy Morning Blogsters -

My friend Michael sent me this picture and then my friend Dennis sent me this picture too!!

It had the following caption:

"We’ve all seen the faces of those ravaged by the floods of Sri Lanka and New Orleans. This “award-winning” photograph of the recent flood waters rising in Ireland captures the horror and suffering there. Please keep these people in your thoughts!!!!!"

I felt like that yesterday while I was cutting the grass at church in the rain. Fortunately for me, the really hard rain started while I was in Food City picking up some adult beverages so I could go home and look like the picture..........

I have classes on Tuesday and Thursday this semester. Yesterday was Thursday so I have completed one week of the semester.......WhoAh!!! Tomorrow, we are introducing an MBA team to a client in the morning and then I am going home.

Around 1:30PM Dennis and Jason and I will help Frank load our china cabinet into his truck and take it to his home to strip and refinish......this is very nerve racking because this china cabinet has wrap around glass................Frank is very trustworthy, like Dennis, "a reliable chap" (none of us are boys anymore) and so I trust him to take good care of our antique.........

Have a good day, and remember to take good care of yourself, cheers, john

Hello Blogos and Blogetts -

Today I met my two in-class classes both are sections of Management Information Systems. I have two sections with about 40 students each and then I have the Internet section (we started yesterday) with about 40 students and a Graduate Class with 11 students (that started last Friday). That class is divided into three teams and each of the teams is doing a real life consulting project. That class, called the strategic experience, is the culminating experience [final class] in the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program - all together I have about 130 students...........I think I will be busy... However, I love this job and always look forward to the challenge...

On Wednesday nights at church I will be facilitating a class on stewardship....... that sounds exciting to me as well....

This afternoon - around the time we were fixing dinner we heard a loud clap of thunder and looked outside and saw this cloud:

It made me think how insignificant I am and that I owe absolutely everything I have to God.

Remember, take good care of yourself and be thankful for this day.... cheers, john

Hi Blogaroonies........... Hope you are well... Today was the first day of the fall semester at East Tennessee State University where I teach.... Whooahhhh! I started my students in an Internet course I am teaching. Tomorrow I will have class in my day classes and last Friday we started the graduate students on their consulting projects. We have two teams and I am team teaching this course with my chairman, Phil Miller.

Right this very moment I am listening to Aaron Neville sing Ava Maria.......... He is one of my favorite singers and that is one of my favorite songs.....pretty good combination.....

My friend Dennis is starting an NFL pool....and today I recruited four of my colleagues to participate.... Ruth usually wins.......we will try to change that this year.

The dogs are resting and listening to Aaron Neville sing Ave Maria.....my guess is that they do not want to sing harmony.........

Today after I left work, I came home and ate left over home made pizza... then I went to church and killed weeds....... I am trying to reclaim the volley ball area and the horse shoe pits from the weeds............ I will win, I am very good at spraying weeds with RoundUP!!!! RoundUP does not leach into the soil, so I am I think it is okay to use it........... If God is a weed, I am screwed. But then, if God is an insect, I am also screwed..... But then again, I think my God is a loving God, so I might be okay either way.....

Now I am listening to the Dixie Chicks - I really love the Dixie Chicks...... Not erotically, but that other good way.....Their music is very timely as are their comments...............

Well, I just got all signed up for the football pool.......... I am ready to go!!!

Have a great day, and take good care of yourself...cheers, john

Hi Bloggers -

Today I went to faculty meetings and cut the grass at church. We had a College (Business and Technology) meeting at 8:30 AM and a Departmental (Management and Marketing) meeting at 10:00 AM.

After that..............was way more fun.

I met John Spruling about 2:45 PM. He was cutting the parsonage and I started cutting the church............we finished in about 2 hours and I came home and had a Gaelic Ale.

I hope you had a good day too.

Take good care of yourself, cheers, john

Hey Bloggers -

In a rare mid-day blog I feel it necessary to share this image with you and hope your imagination is in full force....... This is a political commentary from my colleague Jim Frierson. We share similar political viewpoints..... Imagine.....

I figure, for the enconomists in our midst, that this is an example of trickle down economics... I am not sure if it is good or bad, it probably depends where you are sitting.... Also, there does not seem to be any middle ground here............

Well, have a cheery day, and remember, take good care of yourself...john

Hello Blogskateers.... Today I had breakfast with Dennis and Marie - Great fun!!! Then I took my mower to be fixed. Then I had lunch with my youngest son - he is in law school at the University of Maryland - the law school and medical complex are in Baltimore - He is studying to be an environmental lawyer.... He will finish next May and has his first job as the clerk for an Appeals Judge in Maryland - (that is like the Supreme Court Judge in Tennessee). Then I went back to Boones Creek and picked up my mower.... Then I got caught up on my blog reading and now I am writing my blog.......... Oh! I stopped by Comcast's office in Boones Creek and asked if they had an dual DVRs?......... the answer was no....... next question was when?........ answer was check back in a month........ that, by the way, is the same answer I have received every time I have asked for over a year......... Compared to Charter, Comcast sucks......... Well, have a cheery evening and remember to take good care of yourself, john

PS - meetings start tomorrow at work - summer is officially over today... that also sucks and
if you have Comcast, write all of the county commissioners and tell them Comcast sucks here is the URL where you can write: http://www.washingtoncountytn.com/

Hello Bloggers - Well, the highlight of my day was waking up at about 5:30 am and realizing that the air blowing out of our downstairs air vents was just the same temperature as the air in the room and warmer than the air outside..........well, it was way to early to worry about it so I didn't for a few hours....it continued and I realized there was definitely a problem....I tried calling the person who installed the "new" outside unit and someone else had his number...realizing that that was not a good sign, I tried calling the building contractor who sent him to us and they of course did not answer, after all is is Saturday......so, what did I do next..........I knew that a particular local HVAC dealer had an extremely good reputation and that, of course, that included a slightly higher price for services rendered.....however, I wanted it fixed so I looked in the YellowPages and there he was - service 24/7!!! So I called......from the time I called to the time the problem was fixed, it was about an hour and a half.........It was a capacitor (Dennis knows what that is and will be happy to describe it in detail to you in his blog, I saw it and am sorry it died).........problem solved...........cold air...

Hope you had a great day.

Remember, take good care of yourself, cheers..john

Well, what do we have here? Hey Blogos and Blogettes............. Are you hungry? Starting on the top and going from left to right, beer bread, french bread, scones - bottom.. a french bread roll that the cat licked, chocolate chip bars still in the pan, and the unlicked french bread rolls....I am having a hard time throwing away that roll the cat licked..................

I did the laundry too.................

For dinner, we are having Paella a la Valenciana........... a picture will follow.

It was yummy -

Take good care of yourself, cheers, john
