Hello Blogsters........so far, the day has been as promised, uneventful... Had the vehicles washed at the pancake wash..........well b4 that, I discovered that my trusty camer crapped out - died......... so after the pancake wash, I bought a new one. Of course now you will have to suffer with some pictures. Well did I mention that I liked to garden? I am not an accomplished gardner, but I have fun and a lot of luck. First we have the "crock rock." Cool hugh? We cannot call it the gator because we do not like gators we like Seminals......so, it is the "crock rock" and besides that rhymes. Next we have some sunflowers..and you can see that they are almost as tall as the house.............. yah, right..

Then we have some dasies and cornflowers..

Well okay - That's enough pictures for one day...

In less than an hour we will be off to our friends for dinner and Corn Field Golf if it doesn't rain, in the mean time... I hope that flowers make you smile - they make me smile - and that these picures were a cheery part of your day.

For now, keep smiling and take good care of yourself. Cheers.

Gooooooooooood morning! It's Saturday!! Today we will go to church, Cherokee United Methodist Church, for a "pancake wash" the youth are having to raise money for their mission trip. I have actually washed pancakes b4 but that is another story and I will not bore you with it.

Not much on the menu for today.... until this evening when we will go to our friends home for a great supper... If we are lucky, we will get to play "corn field golf" - They call it "redneck golf", but I have renamed it since it came to Tennessee from Iowa.... We will have a wonderful time and also get to visit with their really cool dog......... since they do not have a cat, I am not worried about getting another gash breaking-up a fight. Phew...

So for now, it is "Happy Trails To You" and take good care of yourself. Cheers

Hi There - Where? Oh, just skip it... To start this day, I awoke at 5:15 AM, not sure why, I am finished teaching for the summer and therefore could sleep in a little later.. On schedule for the day was to take a package to UPS, buy gas for the SCAG, do the washing and, best of all, bake...yep, bake...

Yesterday, I received a set of wireless headphones I had ordered from Buy.com. I had done business there before and have been quite pleased. When the headphones arrived, I set them up according to the directions on the box - there were none inside. Excuse me, I had to go get a Gaelic Ale from Highland Brewing in Asheville, NC. (no, I did not actually go go NC - I went to the fridg. Back now - anyway, everything worked fine except that I was getting stereo reception in only the right ear...nothing in the left. Quickly, I made an appointment to have my hearing checked by the audiologists thinking I had lost hearing in that ear - come to find out, I had diminished hearing in both ears, but not complete loss. Well, I decided that the wireless headphones were defective. I sent an e-mail to Buy.com and before I went to bed last night I had the instructions, mailing label, and everything I need to send the product back.... It was sad they didn't work, but five stars ****** for Buy.com and their customer service department.

So after I did one load of wash and got the dough rising for the French bread, off I went to the UPS store down the road... on the way back I got 10 gallons of gas for the SCAG.... wow, it is expensive... and then back home to wash some more and take care of forming the French bread into loafs and let it go for the second rise.........more wash, drying, hanging, folding and it was time to cook the bread, yummy.........

By now, it was time to meet my wonderful wife for lunch...Pizza Inn buffet today!!

Home again, and back to the wash...seems like a lot today, may it was more than a lot, about an acre..............and, you got it, more baking...

Well, it is now early evening, 5ish, and it looks stormy outside....but, the last load of wash is drying and the last batch of baking is finished........... In case your still reading and wondering, I made - oops, it is raining, I have to let in the dogs, back in a minute.... back, they are wimpsters and do not like the rain, some lab mix they are.

Well, I baked 5 dozen choc. chip cookies, cinnamon scones, and raisin scones... and the before mentioned 4 loafs of French bread..........that's too much food for the three of us - better give some of it away........

While I was finishing up that paragraph, one of our cats got cornered by the dogs and I was trying to break up the fight and got a cat scratch........ inch gash on my finger... I have had a tetanus shot and my wife came home at just that instance and stopped the bleeding and bandaged up my finger... I am getting too old for this much fun..........

Wow, I had a great day. I hope that you are having a great day too and that you will take good care of yourself. Cheers.
Thanks to my friend, Dennis, there is a picture of me in my profile - see, I am not as handsome as either Tom Selleck or Kurt Vonnegut, however, I am me and damn glad of it!! Cheers

Hello - I just want to let you know that writing about myself seems kind of dumb. I have never kept a record of my daily activities and doubt that anyone would be that interested. However, I do believe that communication is a good thing and that this is another form of communication...I do hate the telephone, and any thing that resembles the telephone, and so, this might be better... I am going to give it a try and see how it goes. I live in East Tennessee and have a PhD in Business Administration from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. I have been teaching college since 1978 and for me, it has been the most wonderful career a person could ask for.... So there is a start to my Blog.

I will add some pictures as time goes by.. but for now you will just have to imagine what I might look like - I was trying to find a picture of myself to publish - and there are not any in my picture files... I take all the pictures.......... Just imagine, I am not as handsome as either Tom Selleck or Kurt Vonnegut.........

Hope you are having a great day, take good care of yourself.....
