Hi friends - I am typing this blog left handed so I will earn more money, thanks Chalmer... Today was a cloudy dreary day....made more cheerful by the laundry I did... and the errands I ran... but since I wanted to accomplish something, I picked tomatoes, raspberries, and peppers and made scones..................... here they are:

The scones are not finished, I have to let them cool before I drizzle the icing on them - this always makes me smile because I get to use the sifter my daughter bought me......... I miss my kids, today is the birthday of one of my granddaughters, she will be 5 and her name is Maddie - Happy Birthday Maddie............... she lives far away and I will not get to see her, but I will call her in about an hour EDT. All my kids and grandkids live far away and I do not get to see them very often....

That is what is supposed to happen in life, one of my favorite poet/philosopher Kahlil Gibran, he is from Lebanon, wrote that parents are archers and children are arrows and it is our job to launch them on a straight and true path not keep them in the quiver forever - God willing their paths are straight and true.... Gibran lived from 1883-1931 - I enjoy is writings...... here is a self portrait.......

I wish my mind had thoughts like his -

God bless you, and remember, take good care of yourself - cheers, john

Hello beautiful people - Today has been so exciting, I have been cleaning house and baking!! Company is coming on Saturday and I had to get a head start on the house cleaning.... Also, I bought the dogs new mats for the kennels and I had to clean out the kennels before I put the new mats inside. While there are no pictures, I want you to try and imagine what it might look like for me to be on my hands and knees, with my head and shoulders inside the kennel's (one at a time) with my mini-vac................ Wow, I do wish I had that picture!!! While the dogs seem interested in their new mats, they are having too much fun just hanging out with me in the den this afternoon while I baked........it is nice to be loved!!! Well, next I will be starting dinner. Sandy is going to be late getting home from work so I am going to start dinner. It will be a vegetable dinner....pinto beans, home made cole slaw, corn on the cob, baked new white potatos, cucumbers, (Sandy might make some basil tomatoes, but we had that last night, so probably not), and corn bread...................yummy.....our meat will consist of the smoked ham hock that has been cooking in the beans all day.........yummy x 2!!!

Well, that is about it for today, I have also worked on my slide show for church and thought about school.................... Right now, I am listening to Harry Chapin sing "A better place to be."

God bless you, and remember, take good care of yourself.......cheers, john

Hi Ho Blogos - Well today was a nice day...did a little yard work, did the grocery shopping, took some pictures, and had a smoke guard installed on one of our fireplaces.....what is a smoke guard.... it is a security system that protects against smoke from the fireplace - NOT - it is a piece of metal that adjust the height of the fireplace to match the width so that smoke does not escape into the room...................... our fire places are all coal burning fireplaces that are too high for their width...therefore, smoke sometimes escapes into the room rather than going up the flue - in other words, the smoke does not fly up the flue correctly...... While I do not have b4 and after pictures, I do have after pictures and here they are:

Isn't that cute?

Cheers, and remember, take good car of yourself.........................

Hi Blogers and Blogetts... I am back after a couple of days off and, guess you already know, Roz is back and speaking English and eating with a fork (well, maybe not eating with a fork), but Joe is eating with a fork.......how is that for a run on sentence....

Had a great breakfast with Dennis and Marie....I had pigs in a blanked....they had cooler stuff, but the main thing is we had a great time together.......... I look forward to breakfast with Dennis and Marie..

Haven't being doing much except cutting brush at church and cutting the grass at home... But, I did get a new set of wireless headphones............... you will recall the last set did not work and I had to send them back... this time, I went a little more upscale, spent more, and even though I did not wait the 16 hours required to fully charge the batteries (I could have flown to China by then) I turned them on and they worked like WhooHaaa.....great.

Today I begun to create a PowerPoint slide for a meeting we will be having at church in a couple of weeks....an interesting thing happened.......... I was looking for an appropriate background and found one.........and was using it and realized that all the words I was typing like "our programs" were underlined. That indicates that they were misspelled. Well, I am not a good speller, but I know that OUR and PROGRAMS are correctly spelled... I finally figured it out.........the background I was using was created in Spanish and the words were incorrectly spelled in Spanish... So, while English is the language of the world, Spain has not yet heard the news........ So, the lesson learned is when doing a PP presentation in English, try harder to find an English background.... In other words, do a better background check....

Happy day, and remember, take good care of yourself.. cheers
