Around the yard...................

day lily!

Around here these are called red hot poker.....

real name.....Kniphofia Alcazar....
Easy to see why they are called red hot poker!!!!
close up..................well dah?
This is a wild flower called a mullian - I think they are great, Sandy dislikes them a lot. They remind her of tobacco plants and she has had to harvest tobacco in the past...........ugh.
This plant will have a tall spike, yellow, flower later. Mullians are biennials.....they do not bloom the first year; then they bloom the second year and die!!! I am glad I am not biennial!
This is a columbine plant - pretty yellow flowers. I had a hard time buying a plant called columbine..... but I am glad I did!!
That is Jill. she is playing with her rope ball... She gets an A+ for plays well with herself!!!!
That is a butt hole beer can.... How do I know it is a butt hole beer can? Well some butt hole threw it out their window into my yard.......... anyone who throws stuff out of there vehicle window is a butt hole!!!!
Japanese fern.
Strawberry - oops, it is not quite ripe. There were a couple of really ripe strawberries in the garden when I watered yesterday evening, I didn't get them then. I think the rabbits beat me to them, they were gone today!!
Our new grill....................
Remember, take good care of yourself..........so you can take good care of someone else. Peace, john

Hi John,
Neat looking grill. I had never seen one with two chimneys. So what is special about this type of grill.
Love,
Dennis
PS This is a very cool posting. Good pictures of great plants and a beer can!

Thanks, Dennis. To be honest, it would be much easier to show you then to try to and tell you. It has one burner that is either on or off. You can grill and grilling is a combination of direct and indirect because of a drip pan that is the same size as the grilling surface. (no flame ups!!!) All cooking is done by time. We pretty much do that anyway. It has a drip bucket on the right side that collects the grease drippings from the special drip pan. You can also smoke. You can also steam by closing the drip valvue and putting water in the drip pan, it will hold a gallon of water that will allow you to steam for up to an hour. We are going to try it tonight and I will let you know how it goes. love, john

tonight we had tenderlion, baked potatoe, baked vidalia onions, aspargas, and bread.... all cooked on the new grill with the exception of the asparagus and bread - the bread was warmed-up on the grill. The new grill worked to perfection!!! And dinner was yummy!!! cheers, john
