TGIBTF - Thank God It's Blog Time Friday -
Hello everyone... Today was another great day in East Tennessee...right now it is sunny and warm, earlier it was cloudy and warm.... Sandy and I had lunch today at the Firehouse... yummy... Tonight we are going to have Cornish game hens... they are smoking now...yummy squared.
Today, I did the wash and baked... Since I would imagine that our wash is about the same as yours - whites, lights, brights, darks, and sheets and towels - I will not show you a picture of the wash. Besides, that would be airing our dirty laundry in public.
However, here is the bread I baked:
Most people call it French Bread, but I call it Irish Stick Bread because I will not give the French credit for anything that I bake...
Sandy asked me to bake some cheese cookies - and I did - she had to find the recipe for me..but here they are - The recipe came from the Christmas with Southern Living, 2005 - 25 anniversary edition - They are called cheddar cookies.....flour, butter, sharp cheddar cheese, water, and the two ingredients that really make this recipe, ground red pepper and toasted salted pecans!!!! It is supposed to make 4 and 1/2 dozen cookies, I guess I made them too big because there are only 38 cookies - I will rationalize that I had to compensate for the large size of the toasted salted pecans, oh well, they taste pretty good, if I do say so myself. By the way, the pecans came from Georgia - making them Georgia pecans...
Pax vobiscum (that is Latin, not French) - and remember, take good care of yourself, cheers, john
